In honor of Black History Month and Shabbat Shira (the Shabbat of Song – named for the Torah reading this week in which we read the Song at the Sea), we proudly present a Shabbat evening service and performance with The Afro-Semitic Experience. They are an American jazz and world music group that combines elements of African American gospel and Jewish liturgical music, combining the core concepts of of àse and shalom—power, action, unity, and peace. Formed in 1998 by Warren Byrd and David Chevan, the Afro-Semitic Experience have performed throughout the US and internationally, spreading their message of unity and cultural understanding through their music. Please join us for this special evening of community and connection, meaningful for all ages!
Registration is required to attend this event. Taco Bar Dinner is $18 for adults and free for children 18 and under. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Stacey Boisvert.
