Temple Ohabei Shalom in Brookline stands as a beacon of Jewish tradition and community in the heart of Massachusetts. Founded in 1842, it is one of the oldest Jewish congregations in New England, blending rich history with modern values. 

 

What You’ll Do:

The TOS Events Coordinator is a resourceful and experienced self-starter who will serve as the point person and concierge for internal and external TOS events and programs.  You will be the driving force behind the magic, creating a flawless community experience.   From initial concept to flawless execution, you’ll work closely with TOS Staff and community members to understand their needs, brainstorm creative ideas, and turn dreams into reality. 

 Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversight of the member and guest engagement to ensure a personal, friendly and warm experience 
  • Assisting Temple and community members in planning and executing life-cycle events including but not limited to baby namings, B’nei Mitzvahs, weddings and funerals.
  • As an integral part of the on-site staff team, serve as onsite contact for events, contacts and vendors to ensure the completion of a successful event
  • Serving as in-house concierge, working with staff and members to plan and execute, and evaluate Temple Ohabei Shalom sponsored events including holiday events, fundraisers, meetings, and community events.
    • Include catering, setups, volunteer and staff coordination
    • Handle event registration, committee support, event materials etc.
  • Working with outside renters and event planners on contracts, pricing, setups of equipment and furniture, deliveries, and all matters associated with planning their events.
  • Coordinating contracts, event staffing, food and beverage purchases, and communications with outside vendors and renters.
  • Managing space rentals, serving as the main point of contact, marketing, evaluating, tracking use and managing vendor relationships 

Who You Are:

  • Proven experience in event planning or a related field
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
  • Creative thinking and the ability to think on your feet in high-pressure situations
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond to exceed client expectations
  • High emotional intelligence, loves networking and connecting people, strong customer service skills i.e. dealing effectively with diverse personality types
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple projects and tasks at one time; comfortable taking initiative

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
